Break-in repair help

Break-in repair in Atlanta: secure the door tonight, then harden it so it holds next time.

A forced door leaves your home or business open and your nerves shot. First, make sure you are safe and the police have what they need. When you are ready, call us. We secure the opening the same night, including the door, frame, and lock, so you are not leaving the place wide open while you wait on a general contractor.

Then we fix it properly. New or rekeyed locks, repaired frame, and reinforcement so the next person has a much harder time. We do not just patch the damage, we fix what let the door fail in the first place.

Why most doors fail at the frame, not the lock

The lock on a kicked-in door is almost never the failure point. The frame is. Builders hang doors with half-inch screws into a thin jamb. One solid kick transfers the force to those screws, and the jamb splits around them. The lock is fine. The door is on the floor.

When we repair a break-in, we do not just set the door back in place. We reinforce the strike with a heavy-duty plate and three-inch screws that reach the stud, repair or replace the jamb, and upgrade the deadbolt if it was weak. The door leaves stronger than it was before the break-in.

Police report before we start

We need you to have the police there before we do any repair work on a break-in. Their documentation matters for insurance, and we want to make sure you have what you need before we alter the scene.

Once the report is done and you are ready, call us. We can often be there the same night. If it is very late and a full repair has to wait for daylight or a part, we secure the door temporarily so your home is not open overnight.

Call us for break-in repair when:

  • Your door was kicked in and will not close or lock.
  • The lock was pried or punched and needs replacing.
  • The frame is split and the door is unstable.
  • Keys were taken and you need the locks changed tonight.
  • You want to harden the door so it holds next time.
  • A business door was forced and needs securing before opening.

What we repair

Break-in damage secured and hardened.

Break-in repairs are urgent by nature. We prioritize getting the door secured first, then making it stronger, in a single visit when possible.

Satin nickel single-cylinder deadbolt with strike plate and keys

Kicked-in doors

Split jambs, blown-out strikes, and bent frames repaired and reinforced with long screws into the stud.

Black rim-mounted deadbolt lock with thumbturn and keys for a side or garage door

Damaged locks

Pried, punched, or drilled locks replaced with quality hardware so the door is secure again.

Satin nickel keyed entry door knob and lever lock sets with keys

Emergency rekeying

If keys were taken in the break-in, we rekey every affected door the same night so old keys go dead.

How it works

Secure the door the same night.

After a break-in, the first job is getting your door locked again fast. We split the work into immediate securing and full repair so you decide what happens tonight and what can wait, and you approve both prices before we touch anything.

FAQ

Questions before you call.

These answers cover what we hear most. A quick call is still the fastest way to confirm the details for your exact situation.

Can you secure my door tonight?

Yes. We secure the door, frame, and locks the same visit in most cases so your home or business is not left open overnight. If a part has to wait for daylight, we secure it temporarily first.

Why did my door give way so easily?

Almost always the frame, not the lock. Doors are often hung with short screws into a thin jamb that splits under a kick. We fix that with a reinforced strike and long screws into the stud so it holds next time.

Should I rekey or replace the locks after a break-in?

If the locks are damaged, we replace them. If they are intact but keys may be compromised, we rekey. We assess each lock and tell you which is needed.

Do I call you or the police first?

Police first, and make sure you are safe. Once they have what they need and you are ready, call us to secure and repair the door.
