Commercial door installation

Commercial door installation in Atlanta, from a single replacement to a full storefront.

A failing commercial door is more than an inconvenience. A door that will not latch, a frame pulled out of square by a forklift, or a hollow-metal slab warped past adjustment is a security hole every hour it stays in service. We install and replace commercial doors across Atlanta, including steel and hollow-metal office doors, aluminum storefront and glass doors, and the frames, thresholds, hinges, closers, locksets, and exit-hardware prep that make the whole assembly work.

We have been doing this work for Atlanta businesses since 2013, we are insured, and we can provide a certificate of insurance before we start. Every job is quoted before we touch anything, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

When a door is beyond repair

Sometimes a door can be adjusted or repaired. A bent hinge leaf, a misaligned strike plate, or a worn threshold seal can often be corrected without replacing the slab. When the frame is out of square, the slab is cracked or warped, or the door has been forced so many times the lock prep is compromised, repair is a short-term patch and replacement is the right call.

We will tell you honestly which situation you are in. If a repair will hold, we say so. If the door needs replacing, we scope the right replacement, including the correct fire-rating and hardware prep for the opening, and give you the full install price before we order anything.

What a complete door installation covers

A door replacement is not just swapping the slab. The frame needs to be plumb and the rough opening needs to accept the new unit. Hinges or pivot hardware must match the door weight and frequency of use. A commercial closer sized for light office traffic will fail fast on a busy entrance. We fit the complete assembly: door, frame or frame repair, hinges or pivots, closer, lockset, threshold, and any exit-device prep the opening requires.

If the new door is an entry point with a panic bar or an access-controlled door, we coordinate the hardware prep at rough-in so you are not cutting into a finished door later. That coordination saves time and money when the security hardware goes in.

Security upgrades and same-day scheduling

A door replacement is a natural point to upgrade the lockset or exit hardware at the same time. Installing a higher-security cylinder, adding a deadbolt, or prepping for access control costs far less when it happens with the door than as a retrofit later.

For urgent situations, such as a forced entry, a door damaged by an accident, or a door that will not secure at closing, we prioritize commercial calls and work to schedule the same day or next morning. Call with the door type and address and we will tell you what we can do.

Call us for commercial door installation when:

  • A door was forced, struck by a vehicle, or is warped beyond adjustment.
  • The frame is out of square and the door will not latch or lock reliably.
  • You are replacing an interior office door with a fire-rated or higher-security unit.
  • A storefront door or aluminum entry needs a full replacement.
  • You are fitting a new exit door and need correct panic-hardware prep.
  • You want to upgrade the lockset or add a deadbolt while the door is being replaced.
  • A tenant move-out or renovation calls for fresh hardware on a replaced door.

Door types we install

Steel, hollow-metal, aluminum, and glass commercial doors.

The right door depends on the opening, the traffic level, the fire-rating requirement, and the hardware that needs to fit it. We install the common commercial door types across Atlanta and fit the full hardware package on each.

Commercial steel door with heavy-duty lockset on an Atlanta office building

Steel and hollow-metal doors

The standard for office entries, stairwells, and fire-rated corridors. Available in a range of gauges and fire ratings, with reinforced lock prep and hinge reinforcements for heavy use.

Commercial door lever and knob lockset hardware on an aluminum storefront entry door

Aluminum storefront and glass doors

Common on retail, restaurant, and office building entries. We install the door and frame system, fit the commercial lockset into the rail, and align the closer for smooth daily traffic.

Heavy-duty commercial mortise lockset with lever handle installed on a steel office door

Commercial locksets and deadbolts

Every new door gets the right commercial-grade lockset. We install cylindrical and mortise locksets, commercial deadbolts, and high-security cylinders suited to the traffic and the security level you need.

Hydraulic door closer mounted on a commercial steel door and frame

Closers, hinges, and exit-hardware prep

A door is only as good as the hardware hanging it and closing it. We size and install door closers for the traffic load, fit commercial hinges or pivots for the door weight, and cut the correct lock prep for any panic bar or exit device.

How it works

From damaged door to a solid, working entry.

Commercial door installation is scoped before it is quoted. We confirm the opening dimensions, fire-rating requirements, and hardware needs before we order anything, so the door fits the frame and the hardware fits the door.

  1. 01

    Tell us the opening

Give us the door type, the approximate opening size, the fire-rating requirement if any, and what happened to the existing door. We can often quote a range on the phone.

  2. 02

    We scope and quote

We confirm the opening, check frame condition, and recommend the correct door and hardware package. You get a full price before we order anything.

  3. 03

    We prep and install

We repair or replace the frame as needed, hang the new door, fit hinges or pivots, install the closer, and set the lockset and strike plate.

  4. 04

    We test and adjust

The door is tested for latch, lock, swing speed, and latching force before we leave. We adjust the closer and strike plate until everything operates correctly.

Cost and options

What commercial door installation costs in Atlanta.

Labor for a standard commercial door replacement runs $300 to $600 for most single-door installs, depending on the door type, frame condition, and the hardware package. Aluminum storefront systems and doors that need frame repair or threshold work are quoted individually because the scope varies more. Hardware cost, including the door slab, lockset, closer, and hinges, is quoted per job once we know the opening specs.

We always quote the full job before we order or install anything. If you call with the door type, opening size, fire-rating requirement, and hardware needs, we can give you a ballpark on the phone and a firm quote once we see the opening.

Service Starting price
Standard door slab replacement (labor) Starting at $300
Door and frame installation (labor) Starting at $450
Commercial lockset install with new door Starting at $75 add-on
Closer and hinge hardware fit-out Starting at $100 add-on
Frame repair or threshold work Quoted by scope
Door and hardware (material cost) Quoted per job

Final price confirmed before work starts. Material and hardware costs are quoted per job once we know the door type and opening specs. No surprise charges after the fact.

FAQ

Questions before you call.

These answers cover what we hear most. A quick call is still the fastest way to confirm the details for your exact situation.

Do you supply the door as well as install it?

Yes. We can source and supply the door slab, frame, and hardware, or install a door you have already sourced. If we are supplying, we confirm the specs before ordering so the door fits the opening and meets any fire-rating requirement.

How long does a commercial door replacement take?

A straightforward slab replacement on an existing frame typically takes two to four hours. Jobs that include frame repair, a new threshold, or closer and exit-hardware work take longer. We give you a realistic time estimate when we scope the job.

Can you handle fire-rated door replacements?

Yes. We install fire-rated steel and hollow-metal doors with the correct fire-rated frame, hardware, and clearances. The door and frame label, the lock prep, and the closer all need to match the fire rating of the opening.

Can you prep the door for a panic bar or access control at the same time?

Absolutely, and we recommend doing it at install time. Cutting lock prep or adding power transfer hardware to a finished, hung door costs more and takes longer than doing it before the door goes in.

My door was forced during a break-in. Can you replace it the same day?

We prioritize urgent commercial calls and will work to schedule same-day or next-morning for forced or damaged doors that cannot be secured. Call with the door type and situation and we will tell you what we can do.

Do you provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes. We are insured and provide a COI for commercial property managers, building owners, or contractors who require one before work starts. Just ask when you call.
