Locksmith Pricing in Atlanta
Upfront prices, no surprises at the door. Every quote includes the service call and any after-hours fee before we dispatch.
The locksmith industry has a pricing problem: companies advertise a $15 service call and hand you a $300 invoice at the door. We built J&M around the opposite approach. You get the full price on the phone before anyone drives out, after-hours fees included. The price we quote is the price we charge.
The tables below show our starting prices by service. “Starting at” means that is the floor for that job on a standard lock in normal conditions during daytime hours. We will tell you on the phone if your job is straightforward or if it is likely to come in higher, and why.

How we price
Every quote includes the trip to you. There is no separate “service call fee” added at the door. After-hours fees (overnight, holidays) are always disclosed on the phone and folded into the quote before we dispatch, never revealed at the end of the job.
If a job turns out to be simpler than expected, the price comes down, not up. If we open the door in two minutes instead of ten, you are not paying for our speed. The price is for the result, not the clock.
We quote repair or rekey before we quote replacement. Replacing a lock that only needs rekeying is a common upsell in this industry. We will not do it. If your lock is worth saving, we will tell you that first.
Why locksmith pricing varies
Two lockouts that look the same on the phone can be very different on arrival. Lock type is the biggest factor: a basic knob lock opens quickly, a high-security deadbolt with anti-pick pins takes longer and requires different tools. Time of day is the second factor: overnight and holiday calls carry a small premium because the technician is working outside normal hours, and we build that into the phone quote so it is not a surprise.
Vehicle make and model drives almost all of the variation in automotive pricing. A 2008 Honda Civic key is a very different job from a 2022 Ford F-150 push-to-start. We look up your exact vehicle before quoting.
The price range on our tables is not a negotiation range: it reflects real variation across different jobs in that category. The low end is a straightforward version of that service. We will tell you where your job lands.
Veteran and first responder discount
We offer a discount to active-duty military, veterans, and first responders on all non-emergency services. Mention it when you call. No paperwork required.
Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Do you charge a service call fee on top of the price?
No. The price we quote on the phone includes the trip out. There is no separate dispatch or service call fee added when we arrive.
Do after-hours prices cost more?
Yes, overnight and holiday calls carry a small after-hours premium, but we always include it in the phone quote before we dispatch. You never find out at the end of the job.
How much does a locksmith cost in Atlanta?
Home lockouts start at $75 during the day and $125 overnight. Car lockouts start at $65 during the day. Rekeying runs $20 to $25 per lock. Car key replacement depends on the vehicle and key type, from $75 for a standard metal key to $150 or more for a programmed smart key. Call us and we will give you a firm quote for your specific job.
Why are locksmith prices so high?
A legitimate locksmith price covers a trained technician, a fully-stocked van, insurance, and a trip to your location, available at any hour. What you are often reading about when prices seem shocking is scam operators: companies that advertise a $15 service call and then invent charges at the door. Our prices are what they are because they are honest. Call us and we will tell you the full cost before anyone drives out.
Can you give me a price on the phone?
Yes. For lockouts, rekeying, and most key replacement jobs we give a firm quote on the phone. For larger commercial jobs like access control or master key systems we quote after a quick scope of the work. Either way, you have the price before work starts.
Do you offer free estimates?
For jobs we can price on the phone (lockouts, rekeying, key duplication), yes, the estimate is free. For larger installations that require a site visit to scope, there may be a trip fee that applies toward the job cost. We will tell you upfront.
