Deadbolt Installation on New Interior Door

A Sandy Springs homeowner had a newly hung interior door leading to their home office and wanted a deadbolt added for extra security -- the door came without any lock prep from the contractor. We used a bore jig to drill a clean 2-1/8 inch face bore and 1-inch edge bore on the solid-core door, then mortised the strike plate into the door frame for a flush fit. We installed a Schlage B60N single-cylinder deadbolt in satin nickel finish and keyed it to match the homeowner's existing front door so they only need one key. The whole job took about 40 minutes from setup to cleanup.
