Commercial Door, Crash Bar & Keypad Lock Install
A Brookhaven business owner needed a secure side entrance added to their brick commercial building. We installed a 3-0 x 7-0 hollow metal door and steel frame, then fitted it with a Von Duprin 99 series rim exit device (crash bar) on the interior for fire code compliance and a Schlage CO-100 keypad lock on the exterior so authorized staff can enter with a PIN code. The crash bar allows free egress from inside while the keypad restricts entry from the outside -- no keys to manage or copy. We reinforced the frame with heavy-duty security hinges and a wrap-around strike plate for added kick-in resistance. The entire installation -- door hanging, hardware mounting, and keypad programming with individual codes for five employees -- took about four hours. The building owner now has a fully code-compliant secondary entrance with controlled access and zero ongoing key management.
